True Story... 16 years ago our dear friend died in a tragic accident. We went to the funeral led by Rabbi Paul Kipnes. By the end of the service, I whispered in my wife's ear, "we're changing to this temple !" Hard to say what he did, except that he provided an understanding and acceptance to this stellar woman suddenly being ripped away from her family and friends in just her 40's; and he did so unlike anything we've experienced before. It seemed odd to change temple's, especially with two kids already bar/bat mitzvah'd, and our youngest just one year away... but we made the change. Or Ami means "light" and it sure was for us. The pre-packaged Judaism from our previous temple was immediately replaced with insightful, deep, connection delivered from every direction with a different type of warmth and pertinence. Light.
