Matthew Sniderman

Matthew Sniderman is Or Ami’s Coordinator of Youth Leadership and Community. In this capacity, he serves as advisor for LoMPTY, our 9th-12th grade youth group, as well as planning events for GoMPTY (4th-6th grades), SoMPTY (7th-8th grades), and mentoring our Madrichim (teen leaders). He works in partnership with Rabbi Elana Rabishaw and Andrew Fromer. Matt says, “I am so excited to joining such a vibrant community here at Or Ami!”

Matt grew up in the Valley, graduating from Calabasas High School, before moving to New York City where he lived for eight years. While living in New York, he worked on several new musicals in development and short films. Most recently, Matt toured the country with Paw Patrol Live! Heroes Unite.

While pursuing a life in the arts, Matt started teaching as a substitute religious school teacher in Larchmont, NY. In no time, that side hustle became a passion. Matt has taught religious school for kindergarten classes and BMitzvah prep alike, but he gets most excited to lead and work with teens as they discover the beautiful blend of Judaism in their daily lives.

Outside of working in Jewish life, Matt is still involved in the arts scene in Los Angeles and New York. He acts, writes, and directs, and he is constantly surprised by how much Jewish influence he finds in his work.
