Decision Making to Forego Life-Sustaining Treatment in Jewish Tradition

Yom Kippur, traditionally viewed as a “dress rehearsal” for our own deaths, offers us an opportunity to confront our ultimate mortality in order to live and die more meaningfully. And what of our loved ones? When we, or they, can no longer make decisions for themselves and the decision falls to us, what would we do? In this session, we explore this ultimate and complex question using Jewish sources as our guide.
