Sukkot

SukkotDuring Sukkot we enrich our local Jewish community by forming new relationships with other families and strengthening the existing friendships we have with others in our synagogue.  We do this by inviting other Jews to join us in fulfilling the mitzvah (commandment) of building a sukkah (hut)—especially those who, for various reasons, may not otherwise have the opportunity to build their own sukkah.  We reach out to members of our Jewish community who we know well, and who we don’t know as well.  We strengthen relationships within our Jewish community when we join together to decorate the sukkot (huts) of our friends and neighbors, and especially when we share in the bounty of the season in festive meals housed in our sukkot.
