About Us

 img 8217 - version 2

From the celebration of new life to the saying of Kaddish, Congregation Or Ami is your spiritual family for honoring life cycle events as well as the Jewish holy days. Rabbi Kipnes, Rabbi Weisz, Cantor Cotler, our members, and our staff assist in the preparation and celebration of Bar and Bat Mitzvah, confirmations, weddings, brit and baby namings, and sitting shiva. During the year, you will enjoy participating in our ritual services, including Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur, Sukkot, Hanukkah, Purim and other events which honor and celebrate the history of our people.

Facts

Established in 1997 as a Reform synagogue serving the west San Fernando and Conejo Valleys.

Devoted to the enhancement of Jewish life.

Belief in cooperation and mutual support between all Jewish institutions

Community leadership through United Jewish Federation, ADL, AIPAC, the Hebrew Free Loan Society, and the Agency for Jewish Education

Join us in enriching the Jewish life and identity for young and old, newcomers and veterans.

Membership is not a ticket to activities--our doors are open to all. Rather, it is a way to participate in the service of doing. It is being a part of the mitzvah of helping to create and sustain Jewish life for those who want it, need it, and are enriched by it.
